Here are 6 of the most important criteria to consider when choosing any school your child will attend, and how Wildwood Christian School measures up:

1. My child’s school must provide a comprehensive curriculum.

Wildwood Christian School offers a complete curriculum for students from preschool through grade 8, including Bible, math, reading, science, language arts, heritage studies, music, art, and physical education, and Spanish in the middle school (grades 6, 7 and 8). Students meet weekly for chapel services with worship and Bible teaching appropriate to their age level (K – 5; 6 – 8), and often participate in leading the presentations given. Field trips and guest speakers enhance the curriculum as appropriate. After school activities are provided for an extra fee, as instructors are available.

2. My child’s school must have appropriate facilities.

Wildwood’s facility is at Norwich Alliance Church, and currently includes 7 classrooms, 3 portable classrooms, a full gymnasium, a chapel, a lunchroom and a playground. All classrooms have computer and internet access, which is carefully monitored by our staff. Most of our facility is handicapped accessible, with improvements to this planned for the near future.

3. The staff of my child’s school must be professional and well trained.

Wildwood Christian School currently employs a staff of enthusiastic, motivated, committed Christian educators. We also send our teachers annually to professional in-service training through ACSI. They are continually growing in their personal relationship with Jesus, and are active members of area churches. Our teachers are committed to ongoing personal communication with each and every family to best meet the needs of each student.

4. My child’s class size should be appropriate.

Unlike most public schools, Wildwood’s class sizes are small, and NEVER exceed a 20:1 stu-dent/adult ratio in any grade. In fact, we seldom allow a class to exceed 15 students. This en-ables us to give the students the individual attention they need to learn and grow.

5. My child’s school must be conveniently located.

Wildwood Christian School is located just minutes off of Route 395, at exit 80E in Norwich, making it easily accessible to most eastern Connecticut towns. Norwich residents have the added bonus of bus transportation in the morning and at 3:00 dismissal time.

6. My child’s school must be reasonably priced.

The tuition rates at Wildwood Christian School are competitive with comparable Christian schools in eastern Connecticut, with discounts for families sending more than one child to Wildwood. Scholarships are based on a financial need application and the amount of funding we have avail-able each year.
